Antonio Conte wants Harry Kane future assurance before taking Tottenham job
According to The Times (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Antonio Conte as the next manager has taken a fresh twist. The Italian has issued one condition that needs to be met before he accepts the job.
Talks of Conte becoming the next Tottenham manager started to pick up steam on Wednesday evening, with reports claiming that the club were in advanced talks to sign the 51-year-old.
In addition, it was also stated that along with Conte, Spurs would also bring in ex-Juventus transfer chief Fabio Paratici as the club’s Director of Football.
And while talks continue between the two parties involved, fresh reports are now claiming that Conte’s appointment might not be as straightforward as it seemed. Indeed, the Italian has seemingly demanded Tottenham that they ensure Harry Kane does not leave the club before he accepts the job offer. (h/t Express)
This obviously puts a spanner in the works as Kane has his heart set on a summer exit from Tottenham in order to win trophies. Manchester City have emerged as the frontrunners to sign the England captain while both Chelsea and Manchester United are also in contention. (h/t Express)
Conte, though, has informed Tottenham that he would be willing to take up the job only if he is assured that Kane will not be sold.

Tottenham, though, remain locked in negotiations with Conte’s representatives over the appointment, with the report adding that an announcement could be made as early as today, hinting that the club might be able to persuade the Italian to take over.
Conte, throughout his career, has had complicated relationships with the boards of the clubs he has managed due to his aggressive transfer demands. It remains to be seen whether that changes if he is made the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
