Tottenham to look at Graham Potter, Eddie Howe as Conte deal falls apart
According to the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur could turn back their focus towards Graham Potter and Eddie Howe after their pursuit of Antonio Conte came to an end.
Tottenham have been on the lookout for a new manager for well over a month now, following the sacking of Jose Mourinho. And last week offered hope of success for the Lilywhites, with reports claiming that the club was in advanced talks to appoint former Inter Milan boss Conte as the new manager.
However, all that came to nothing as Tottenham decided to call off their pursuit of the 51-year-old due to his demands, leaving Daniel Levy & co. back at square one.
Having seen the Conte move fall through, Tottenham could now turn their focus back towards two English managers in Eddie Howe and Graham Potter, as per the aforementioned report.
Howe has been without a job since leaving AFC Bournemouth at the end of the 2019/20 campaign when the Cherries were relegated. While he couldn’t secure safety for the South Coast club, Howe has been heavily lauded for the work he did at the Vitality Stadium and is regarded as one of the brightest young English managers.
The same goes for Potter as well, who, after impressing at Swansea City, has done a solid job at Brighton & Hove Albion, even though their table position might not reflect it. Given the budget that he has to operate with and the players that he has, Potter has done a sterling job to get the Seagulls to play the way they do.

Potter has been linked with the Tottenham job in the past, while Howe’s name has also been suggested as a potential candidate for Tottenham. With Conte no longer an option, it remains to be seen if Levy & co. look at either of the two as candidates to take over at the club.
