Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo warned of huge expectations at club

Speaking to The Spurs Web (h/t Football.london), former Tottenham Hotspur defender Ramon Vega has warned new manager Nuno Espirito Santo that he will have huge expectations to fulfil at the club.

Nuno was appointed the manager of Tottenham earlier this month after a long, protracted search for a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho. The 47-year-old was unattached to any club after having left his previous job at Wolves and arrives at Tottenham to steady the ship after a difficult last season.

And, ex-Spurs defender Vega has insisted that Nuno will have a huge challenge at his hand to fulfil the expectations at Tottenham while acknowledging that the manager did some very good work at Wolves.

“Nuno is now the manager, he has a huge responsibility for the club. Tottenham has huge expectations, the fans as well. It has to be a new rebuild. So, he knows exactly what kind of channels he’s going into. Tottenham is not Wolves. He’s done tremendously at Wolves, I have to be honest, he’s done a good job for these guys.

“But Tottenham Hotspur’s a different level because just the philosophy, the way they want to play, the expectations are way higher than at Wolves.”

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

It goes without saying that Nuno has a tough task at his hands. For starters, he will need to sort out the squad, get his transfers on point while aiming to get Tottenhaam back into the top four for next season. At the time, the spectre of the long-running trophy draught at the club will also be hanging on his head.

Hopefully, he is given the requisite backing in the transfer market in order to build a team that is capable of putting behind the demons of Mourinho’s last season.
