Tottenham starlet Oliver Skipp set for new and improved contract
According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to offer a new and improved contract for midfield starlet Oliver Skipp following his first-team breakthrough this season.
A product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy, the 21-year-old midfielder has always been held in high regard within the club.
Skipp spent the last season out on loan with the Canaries and enjoyed a stunning spell as he played a crucial role in them securing promotion back to the Premier League. The 20-year-old featured in 45 league games, scoring one goal and setting up two more.
Back at Tottenham, the young midfielder has been integrated into the first-team by manager Nuno Espirito Santo, with the youngster quickly established himself as a regular early in the 2021/22 season. Indeed, the 21-year-old has started each of Spurs’ four Premier League games so far.
The midfielder had signed a new deal with the club last year before heading out on loan, extending his stay at Spurs till 2024. However, given his rising stature within the first-team, Tottenham are now ready to hand Skipp a new and improved contract.
Indeed, the report claims that Skipp’s new contract would run till the summer of 2025 while his current wages of £25,000-a-week would rise to a figure between £35,000 and £40,000 per week.

While he is still at the nascent stages of his first-team career at Tottenham, Skipp has demonstrated great potential as well as maturity. So much so that he is keeping more experienced operators like Harry Winks out on the bench. So, a new contract will be a well-deserved reward for the 21-year-old.
