Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur ready to move for Dusan Vlahovic in January
According to transfer news from Calciomercato (h/t ESPN), Tottenham Hotspur are ready to move for Dusan Vlahovic in January. A possible fee of €70m-€80m could be on the cards as Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also in the race to sign the 21-year-old Serbian.
It’s rather puzzling that a club like Spurs have just one striker in Harry Kane. The club did not sign the duo of Carlos Vinicius and Gareth Bale permanently after their loan spells ended. That left Kane as the only recognised striker on the side with others such as Son Heung-Min occasionally chipping in at that position.
Spurs actually tried getting in another striker over the summer and made an effort to get the talented Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina. The youngster had a season to remember with 21 goals last time around meaning that he was the fourth-highest scorer in Serie A. That piqued not only Spurs’ interest but also other sides such as Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
While he was not obtained in the summer, a January move could now be on the cards. The striker is yet to agree on a new deal with Fiorentina and the Italian side could end up asking for a fee in the region of €70m-€80m. Spurs are hoping to return for the player in January but it has not been mentioned whether Spurs will pay that sort of money.

Essentially, Spurs could do with another striker in their ranks. Regardless of Kane’s future, they will need another player who can chip in with the goals when the others are not firing. At just 21, Valhovic is still in his developmental years. But while that is the case, he has also shown that he can cut it at the highest of levels.
