Tottenham Hotspur are targeting deals for Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Matthijs de Ligt
According to Calciomercato (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur are plotting deals for Juventus duo Dejan Kulusevski and Matthijs de Ligt as they look to splurge the cash in the upcoming window.
The North London outfit hired Fabio Paratici as the new director of football this summer as they looked to bring in exciting talent to the club. In a matter of a couple of months, Tottenham welcomed the likes of Cristian Romero, Pape Matar Sarr, Bryan Gil, Pierluigi Gollini, and Emerson Royal.
However, one target they failed to land was Villarreal’s Pau Torres. The Spaniard refused to join Spurs as he wanted to play Champions League football. While the 24-year-old did reject the London club, Paratici is still keen on adding a centre-back.
This has led to the club targeting Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt, and Tottenham are now ready to break their transfer record to sign the 22-year-old centre-back.
The Turin outfit shelled out £67.5million to land the Dutch international from Ajax a couple of years ago, and Daniel Levy is now ready to splurge £85.4million on the youngster, which would provide the Serie A club with a profitable return. However, De Ligt is not the only Juventus player on Spurs’ transfer list.
Dejan Kulusevski is also being targeted by the club, and the North London club are ready to match the number (£29.7million) the Old Lady spent to sign the Swedish winger last season.

Given that Paratici was the director of football at Juventus earlier, Tottenham are hoping to use this connection to land the two stars. While they might not face any competition for Kulusevski’s signature, the same cannot be said about De Ligt.
London rivals Chelsea are also eager to sign the former Ajax man. Thus, Levy will have to use his expertise to negotiate this £115million double deal as he looks to strengthen his club in the upcoming transfer window.
