Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur ace Tanguy Ndombele is on the radar of AS Roma
According to transfer news from Calciomercato (h/t ESPN), Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele is being eyed by AS Roma over a potential move as Jose Mourinho looks to be reunited with the Frenchman.
The 24-year-old has had a mixed time in North London, ever since he made the move from Olympique Lyon in 2019 under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino. A forgotten fact about the French international is also that he signed for Spurs in a club-record deal worth £65million.
Thus, it is not good news for Spurs that the midfielder has not provided a return on his investment yet.
There was a lot of speculation regarding his future earlier this summer as well as he was eyeing a move away, while Fabio Paratici was also open to letting him go for a suitable fee, according to Sky Sports News (h/t Daily Mail).
A move failed to materialize, and the Frenchman stayed at the club. Since then, he has opened his account for the season as he scored against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EFL Cup. However, it may not be long before the 24-year-old is lured away from the North London outfit.
AS Roma are said to be eyeing a midfielder with athleticism, and Ndombele is seen as a good fit, according to Calciomercato (h/t ESPN). A move to the Italian club will see the midfielder link up with Mourinho again, with who he did not enjoy a good relationship at Spurs.

However, he still managed 57 appearances under all competitions under the Portuguese boss, indicating that a bitter relationship between the two never affected Mourinho’s selection of the player on matchday. The French international is contracted to Spurs until 2025, thus, it remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy would be interested in letting go of his star midfielder any time soon.
