Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur plan double swoop for Dejan Kulusevski and Weston McKennie from Juventus
According to transfer news from TeamTALK (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur are planning to sign Weston McKennie and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus in a £51million double swoop.
Spurs are hoping to use Fabio Paratici’s contact with the Serie A giants. The 49-year-old Italian left Juventus to join the Lilywhites as the director of football this summer.
McKennie has been a regular starter for the Old Lady in recent times since his move from Schalke was made permanent. West Ham United are also said to be keen to sign the 23-year-old American.
Kulusevski, on the other hand, has had a poor time in Turin since signing from Atalanta in a £30million move – a fee that Juve might look for if they are to sell the Swedish international.
Double swoop for Spurs on the cards?
The Lilywhites could use both the players considering the depth and quality they would add to the squad. McKennie is a young and able central midfielder who would be an upgrade on some of Spurs’ current first-team stars.
Kulusevski would be a potent addition, if Spurs were to sign him, considering he can play on both wings and would offer much-needed backup and/or competition to the likes of Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura.
Spurs had a pretty busy summer. Young players such as Bryan Gil and Cristian Romero arrived at N17 while the older players such as Moussa Sissoko and Toby Alderweireld departed the club.
