Tottenham ace Harry Kane moving to Newcastle could be realistic after takeover claims pundit
In conversation with talkSPORT (h/t The Shields Gazette), football pundit Darren Ambrose states that a Newcastle United move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane could be ‘realistic’.
English striker Harry Kane has been a dependable asset for the North London club for a long time now. He has been a consistent performer for the Lilywhites. The 28-year-old has scored 166 goals and provided 34 assists in 251 Premier League appearances for Spurs.
The English captain also managed a great last season with the club where he scored 33 goals and notched up 17 assists for Tottenham across all competitions. These brilliant performances have seen him being linked to fellow rivals Manchester City.
Despite his goal-scoring exploits the talismanic striker has not managed to open his goal-scoring account in the PL this season. There has been a lot of chaos surrounding his immediate future in the recent past.
Newcastle United could be looking to to prove a point to the rest of the clubs after their recent massive takeover. Darren Ambrose on talkSPORT highlighted the possible scenario that could take place should any club try and make the move for Kane once again.
“Say Daniel Levy puts on another ridiculous fee that no-one else is going to pay. And Newcastle say, ‘there is £150 million, we will match that. Who has more chance of winning a trophy? Tottenham or Newcastle now? Everyone is going to say (Newcastle) because they have got a project. They have got ambition. So, that could be realistic.”
The 28-year-old English captain has given the Tottenham fans a lot of celebratory moments in the past with his excellent performances. Despite managerial changes and lack of trophies the striker has proved his worth time and again. Nuno Espirito Santo has just taken over as coach of the Lilywhites and would be looking to experience some of Kane’s dazzling form firsthand in the coming matches.
