Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura warns Newcastle United that money that does guarantee success
According to The Express, Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura has fired a warning to Newcastle United who are currently the flavour of the town following their takeover.
The Magpies have now elevated themselves to the top of the football rich list and fans are excited for what is to come. Moura meanwhile does not believe that success is a given despite the ability to throw countless amounts of money at it.
It is entirely possible that the need for immediate success will outweigh the need to build a solid foundation. It is something Moura is familiar with having moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.
The switch to the French capital came just two years after the Qatari takeover of PSG. Moura has a first-hand experience of the expectations that follow. He has now gone on to warn Newcastle of the challenges they face. While money certainly helps, it is not everything and there are other factors also in play.
“It is true that you have to get all the ingredients right. Everyone knows football is not all about money.”
Moura’s comments come ahead of the titanic clash against the Magpies at St James Park later tonight. While Newcastle could go on to achieve great things, they have not turned into a la Manchester City just yet. Tottenham have the better side on paper and should see off their rivals with minimal fuss.
According to The Daily Mail, Moura also goes on to add that Tottenham remains keen to return to the top four. He believes that the club belongs at Europe’s top table and will do his best to help them achieve that.
“The Champions League is our place and we will try for this.”
While it is good to hear such words from the Brazilian, it matters for little when we cannot perform in the field. The reason why we are in the Conference League is not because of the riches of other clubs but rather our inability to get the desired results.

Spurs will hopefully go on to win at St James Park, showing the Magpies that they have a long way to go before being considered amongst the elite. The three points will also aid us in our cause of finishing in the top four come to the end of the campaign.
