Tottenham Hotspur fans react to Nuno Espirito Santo’s sacking following Manchester United defeat
According to their official Twitter handle, Tottenham Hotspur have released a statement regarding the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo following the heavy loss at the hands of Manchester United in the Premier League.
Nuno was appointed as the manager in the summer after Jose Mourinho was relieved of the job back in April. He started his tenure at Tottenham strongly after defeating Manchester City in the league and winning the Manager of the Month award in August.
However, performances started being inconsistent after the early promise and pressure was building on the former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss. The final nail in the coffin was the 3-0 defeat to Manchester United, who had their own problems with the team.
Coming into the United game, Nuno’s side had lost against West Ham United in the league while winning against Burnley in the Carabao Cup. This goes in line with the irregular form that Spurs were displaying towards the end of the Portuguese’s reign.
Fabio Paratici, the Managing Director has said that he regrets the decision and has wished Santo the best for his future. The statement read:
“Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future.”
Being at the club for just four months, the 47-year-old has left the team in a state of limbo. Daniel Levy will need to find a suitable replacement to ensure solidity in the long run.
Here is how Spurs supporters reacted to the news regarding the sacking of Nuno Espirito Santo:
Thank you Nuno, but you were never up to the task. Best of luck in the future.

Tottenham should've given Nuno Santo to the end of the season to prove himself, he was doing a good job; He's not entirely responsible for the team's performance. Clubs unrealistic expectations from their managers is upsetting; This needs to be addressed. Best wishes to Santo.

Waste of time and it took months to even decide to appoint him. Well out of his depth and everyone knew it.
Now you have a chance to appoint the right man, that is Conte. Get it done.

We had a coach who took us to CL final knew we needed to rebuild and said so was sacked. Every top manager approached said the same and was not appointed. So we got to Nuno a decent man, and now he has been sacrificed on the ego of the boardroom who think they do no wrong.
