Transfer News: Tottenham battle Arsenal for Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t The Sun), north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are all set to battle each other for the signature of Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski.
The 21-year-old winger has been out of favour under Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri, averaging just 32 minutes per game in Serie A this season.
After the appointment of Antonio Conte, Spurs would be looking to build a squad according to the Italian’s liking and they have shortlisted the Swedish winger to help the Spurs cause in the near future.
Kulusevski came to the Turin club from Parma for £30m back in January 2020 when current Spurs’ director of football, Fabio Paratici, was at Juventus. The 49-year-old Italian left the Old Lady to join the London club as the director of football this summer.
So, Spurs will be hoping that Paratici’s contact can help them sign the Swede ahead of their arch-rivals Arsenal, who are also interested in the youngster.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a big fan of the Swedish international and sees him as a player who can play both on the wings and as a striker. And with the Gunners hitting a roadblock in their recent attempt to land Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic, Arteta will be hoping that he can get the winger on board.
Kulusevski, who has a contract with Juventus till June 2025 has made 11 appearances in 12 games for the Serie A giants so far, but his role has been mostly limited from the bench.
Earlier, in the summer Bayern Munich, PSG and both Manchester Clubs showed interest in the young winger, who has 19 international caps for Sweden under his belt.
