Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane highlights the club’s atmosphere under Antonio Conte
In conversation with talkSPORT (h/t Football.London), Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane spoke about manager Antonio Conte and his work with the club.
The 28-year-old striker who has been struggling for Spurs in the Premier League recently had a great time in the international break with England. He would be looking to build on that and look forward to getting on the scoresheet more regularly for the Lilywhites.
While the striker suffered a loss of form this season, the appointment of a visionary manager like Antonio Conte may just be the thing that he requires right now. Kane was linked to Manchester City in the last transfer window. Nothing eventually happened and the 28-year-old was forced to stay at N-17.
The English captain has only managed to score one goal in the Premier League this season with the Lilywhites. It seems that the English captain may be ready to put all of his early struggles at the club this campaign behind him after a rejuvenating international break.
“Yeah, he is brilliant. Obviously we had the five days before the international break, he tried to get in as many ideas as he could to the team. Getting to know him, he’s a great manager, his resume speaks for itself.”
Kane spoke about the kind of impact that Conte is having in his early days at Tottenham and was full of praise for the Italian manager.
“He’s a fantastic coach, he has his own way of working and everyone is buying into it and that is what we need at the club at the moment; everyone going in the same direction and giving everything on the training pitch.”
The North Londoners endured a tricky start to the season under former manager Nuno Espirito Santo. They started the season well but his defensive approach and losses in important London derbies meant that the Lilywhites let go of him.
The 52-year-old manager has a more attacking style of play as compared to the Portuguese but also demands a lot from his players. This determination could help bring out the best of the squad that is currently placed in the ninth position in the PL table.
