Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur plot move for AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo
According to transfer news on Calciomercato (h/t ESPN), Tottenham Hotspur are interested in sealing a deal for AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo next summer.
The North London club did good business in the summer by bringing in a bunch of talented youngsters. Cristian Romero was a revelation for Atalanta and has started the season well at Tottenham.
Bryan Gil was one of the most exciting youngsters in Spain last season, and signing him was a clever coup. Pierluigi Gollini was also a smart move to provide some backup to Hugo Lloris. Emerson Royal impressed at Real Betis before Barcelona decided to cash in on him this season.
He is yet to his stride this campaign but Antonio Conte could bring about some improvement in his form. Pape Matar Sarr was also a steal of a signing, especially given the number of clubs initially interested in him.
Paratici and Conte now have their eye on yet another talented individual in AS Roma ace, Nicolo Zaniolo. The Fiorentina product joined in 2017 before leaving them for the Stadio Olimpico outfit in 2018.
The 22-year-old has made 84 appearances for the club in the last three seasons. However, he has suffered for minutes under new boss Jose Mourinho this season, with less than 750 minutes of league action on the pitch.

The winger could now be provided an escape route by Spurs. It is thought that he shall become available for €40million as he shall enter the final two years of his deal next summer.
Moreover, we could use some attacking talent in the ranks. Carlos Vinicius and Gareth Bale left the club after their loan moves last season, while Bryan Gil is yet to develop into a starter. Thus, this deal could suit all the parties, and Tottenham must complete a move before another club swoops him up.
