Harry Kane criticises Tottenham Hotspur after embarrassing defeat vs NS Mura
Speaking to BT Sport as quoted by Daily Mail Online, Harry Kane delivered a damning verdict on the performance of Tottenham Hotspur in their defeat at the hands of NS Mura. Spurs lost the game courtesy of a last-minute winner as the Slovenian club won the game 2-1 at home.
Kane had put his side back into the game after scoring the equaliser late in the second half after the hosts opened the scoring in the 11th minute. The chances of a comeback were reduced when Ryan Sessegnon got himself sent off after getting a second yellow card in the first half, but Kane’s equalizer gave fans real hope.
Some players failed to use the opportunity they got under Antonio Conte to stake a claim in the Italian’s starting XI. A slip high-up the pitch conceded possession to Mura and a devastating counter-attack coupled with Davinson Sanchez’s questionable defending cost us the game.
“Unacceptable really – didn’t start well going a goal behind, going down to 10 men made it difficult for ourselves.”
“Second-half we showed some fight and spirit, got ourselves back into the game and if anyone looked like scoring it was gonna be us, but then an immature mistake at the end to concede a goal.”
So what’s next?
The Englishman was one of the few positives that the game provided, and the fans would hope that he continues scoring from here on. The red card did play a part, but we should have taken our chances better and gotten the points in the bag.

We should not be so reactionary as it is just one game and many factors come into action during a match. Conte barely had two weeks with his players, and the international break did not help either. With time, the Italian can make improvements, and the squad should use this as a wake-up call. Not to mention, the sending off didn’t do us any help either.
At the same time, some investments are necessary within the squad, and Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici need to work on it. Compared to some of the top teams in the Premier League, our squad depth may not be the best on paper and it can be argued that the ex-Juventus boss can use some help from those above him when the transfer window opens in January.
