Spurs legends send message to Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli on his future
Dele Alli has had a tough couple of seasons at Tottenham Hotspur in recent years, and his future is up in the air following a disappointing run of games. Many believed that he would get back to his old self under Jose Mourinho, but that never came to fruition.
Alli is at the last end of his straw, and with the January transfer window on the horizon, he would need to do his best with the chances that come his way. He would have a clean slate under Antonio Conte, and he needs to impress the coach if he wants to have a future here.
Speaking to talkSPORT (h/t Football.London), ex-Tottenham star Clive Allen has given a piece of advice to the midfielder on reviving his career at the North London club. The Spurs ace has to do better than his performance against NS Mura, where he failed to make a mark. He is bound to earn chances as others have also struggled in midfield.
“A shadow of the Dele Alli that we know, a shadow of the player that can make runs from midfield, that can score goals, can link with Harry Kane, can be devastating. Dele Alli needs to go right back to basics and he needs to start to rebuild his career.”
A way back for Alli?
As the team is bound to run into a congested fixture list, he would have his chance to earn his spot in the main squad. And like Allen said, the Englishman may have to go back to his roots and find out what made him special in those early days.
Speaking on behalf of Signathon (h/t Football.London), Ledley King shared a similar sentiment while giving his thoughts on what the England international should do. Just like the fans, these club legends would love to see him find his magic and help the team.
“Dele has such a gift that is to score goals, a type of No.10 player. His timing and his finishing is something that is rare. Dele just has to work hard, work as hard as possible and then find that grit and determination and what he does best.”

The 25-year-old could not have a better chance to get back his lost mojo as the team is currently struggling for goals. His revival could help us in the attacking areas and would even help Harry Kane to start scoring.
Alli was known for his ability to link up play, and with Kane becoming more involved in the creative side of the game, they could turn out to be a formidable duo if the midfielder could find his feet again. We are truly longing to see the Alli that we saw under Mauricio Pochettino, especially during his early seasons.
