Transfer fee revealed for Tottenham loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers at Celtic
According to Daily Record, Celtic have to pay more than the initial transfer fee for the Tottenham Hotspur loanee Cameron Carter-Vickers. He has been impressive in his time at Celtic Park and has become a regular at the club.
Carter-Vickers joined the Scottish side on a season-long loan deal on the deadline day this summer. Initially, it was thought that a fee of around £6million would be enough to get his services permanently at the end of the temporary deal.
However, it is now said that the Scottish club would have to part ways with a sum of around £10million for the defender. And that is because of the two add-on clauses that Tottenham have included in his deal.
The US international has not missed a game for the Glasgow based club, having played in 17 matches since his move. He has two goals to his name while helping his team to seven clean sheets in the process.
Should the Scottish club decide not to activate the option to buy in his contract, Spurs would still have his services for a while at the end of the period. The North London club had extended his contract for one year before sending him on a season-long loan.
Ideal scenario?
Should Ange Postecoglou’s side decide against activating the option, we would miss out on a fair bit of money. However, we would also get an able centre-back who has been consistently good this season.
But if they choose to use that option, we would receive a fair sum which may then be added to our budget for backing our coach Antonio Conte. Reinforcements are necessary in the coming transfer windows, after all, as our second string was exposed against NS Mura last month.

The centre-back has quickly become a fan-favourite with the Hoops and has recently expressed that he is open to staying in Scotland. While there is no guarantee, it would be a smart move for both parties if his move becomes permanent next year.
If that is not the case, it would be interesting to see whether Conte would try him out in his defence. We do not have many quality options in that position when it comes to depth and if Carter-Vickers succeeds here, it would almost be like a new signing under the former Inter Milan boss.
