Tottenham Hotspur open to offloading Dele Alli in the January transfer window
According to Daily Mail Online, Tottenham Hotspur are open to offloading Dele Alli in the January transfer window.
The English midfielder has failed to live up to his early hype. He currently looks clueless and devoid of ideas. Antonio Conte’s appointment too has appeared to have done him little good.
Alli has played just two matches under Conte, with one being in the loss against NS Mura in the UEFA Europa Conference League. He started the game but was substituted in the second half after a disappointing performance in the opening 45 minutes.
The midfielder’s contract with Spurs runs until 2024. While an exit could be in the works, the North Londoners do not want to let him leave for cheap. This could see him leave the club on loan in the winter transfer window.
Previously, the midfielder was subjected to multiple offers from Paris Saint-Germain but, Daniel Levy had no interest in letting him leave. But with the Englishman failing to recapture his mojo, he has changed the stance, with Fabio Paratici also agreeing to it.
End of the road?
It seems that the Spurs ace has reached the end of the road in his time at Tottenham. That could explain why he has failed to get chances under the Italian since his horror display against Mura. With others being ahead of him in the pecking order, it is tough to see him work his way back into the reckoning.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp have stamped their authority as the starting midfield duo. Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele are also battling it out to get into the team. That leaves little to no space for the England international, whose career has reached a standstill at N17.

It is sad to see how Alli’s career has regressed from his early days, where he showed so much promise. He was named as the most valuable U21 in world football, beating Kylian Mbappe in the process when he was at his bestAll that seems a lifetime away.
Should he go out on loan, the deal could have a mandatory or optional buy clause depending on how the negotiations go. In this situation, it would be best if he could revive his career on loan and impress elsewhere. It would appear that a parting of the ways could prove to be the best way forward for everyone involved.
