Tottenham Hotspur re-open training grounds ahead of Leicester City clash amid Covid concerns
According to Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur have re-opened their training grounds ahead of the Leicester City clash in Premier League amid Covid concerns. The match is set to take place on Thursday, 16 December but could still get postponed if matters get worse.
However, this development would be a boost as Spurs are preparing for the match like business as usual. Antonio Conte did carry out training sessions from Sunday to Tuesday with the squad that was in his possession which was thinned out due to the Covid outbreak.
There was a new case within the first team on Monday whereas, the U-23s suffered a virus breakout inside their set-up. Earlier, two fixtures got rescheduled due to the outbreak, with one being the league clash against Brighton and Hove Albion and the other against Stade Rennes in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Tottenham would want to play against Leicester, having postponed two of their league matches. Earlier, the game against Burnley had to get rescheduled due to the harsh weather conditions, which could lead to congestion in the future.
Yay or Nay?
We have not seen our team play for a while, and the fanbase would be delighted to hear the news. However, the safety of our team matters to us the most, and that should always take the first seat.
Having already recorded a second breakout, the club must do all that it takes to reduce the spread and follow the Emergency Measures. In a best-case scenario, we would like to see the team play to reduce the risk of fixture pileup.

Not to mention, we must get back into the action as early as possible not to lose the match sharpness. It may have already affected some players, and it could dent our chances of a top-four finish if we do not regain it soon.
The Foxes have cases of their own within their camp, and the two teams alongside Premier League must make sure that the potential match would not create a super spread. Daily testing continues to take place, which could help a lot in finding the source and minimising the effects.
Time will tell whether the game would be played or it would fall into the list of postponed fixtures that are increasing daily. Earlier, the clash between Brentford and Manchester United got rescheduled due to a Covid outbreak within the Red Devils squad.
