Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic rejects new contract offer from Fiorentina
Dusan Vlahovic has attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and a host of other Premier League clubs for a potential transfer. Fiorentina chief executive Joe Barone has confirmed that the former had rejected multiple offers from them.
The Serbian could be involved in the match against Benevento later today, where he would try to extend his five-match scoring streak. The Serie A club continues to use him despite the rejections, which shows how they acknowledge what he brings to their team.
Speaking in an interview with Repubblica (h/t The Sun), Barone has mentioned the Serb and his agent had refused to sign an extension, despite offering a new contract which would have made the attacker the highest paid in the club’s history. He added that the current deal is still on the table if they wish to accept it in the future.
“We’ve offered Vlahovic the highest contract ever in the history of Fiorentina, several times. Both Dusan and his agent made us realise that they do not want to accept. Our bid is still on the table.”
An opening?
With this new update, the Serbian could be eyeing a move away from his club in the coming transfer windows. It creates a pathway for us to try our hand, but we would be facing competition from fellow league rivals.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Newcastle United are keeping tabs for a potential transfer in the future. Fabio Paratici would need to use his Italian connections to the full extent for gaining an edge over the competitors.
Considering Harry Kane’s struggles in front of goal this season, we could use a centre-forward of his quality. It would relieve some pressure from the England captain and regain his earlier form. The Fiorentina star could also complement Kane’s style since the latter has evolved his game to drop deep and create chances for others.

Should we sign him, we could also see a situation where Antonio Conte could try to replicate what he did at Inter Milan with Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. The latter duo reached a newer height under Conte, which would be a boost for us if Vlahovic’s signing gets completed.
