Tottenham Hotspur will make a ‘lucrative’ offer for AC Milan star Franck Kessie
According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur are set to make a lucrative offer to Franck Kessie in order to lure him from AC Milan next summer.
The Ivorian has developed into a leading figure in the Rossoneri midfield. Furthermore, he has been one of the most consistent midfielders in Serie A. With five goals in 16 Italian top-flight games, it’s fair to say he has also proved his goalscoring abilities.
Kessie’s current contract with AC Milan will end in the summer of 2022. However, the Ivorian international hasn’t shown any interest to sign a renewal deal. It is believed that Rossoneri’s latest wage offer worth €6.5million-a-year wasn’t enough to convince the midfield star.
Kessie’s transfer saga has attracted huge interest from the Premier League. Manchester United and Tottenham have kept tabs on the situation. However, if the recent news is to be true, Spurs appear to have the edge over their English rivals in the race.
It is believed that Antonio Conte’s team is preparing a ‘lucrative’ wage offer for the 25-year-old that would be an upgrade on the offer from Milan.
Antonio Conte has already reflected on the need for improvement in the Tottenham squad. It is believed that the manager would be allowed a considerable amount of sum for the coming transfer window to lure reinforcements.
The former Inter Milan manager has used Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg and Oliver Skipp in the central midfield. While Harry Winks is also available, there is a lack of dependable options below him in the pecking order.
Tanguy Ndombélé and Dele Alli have fallen from the pecking order due to their inconsistent display and poor form. The Italian manager was critical of the French midfielder in a recent interview and didn’t guarantee his continued stay at the club.

Frank Kessie can solve the depth problem at the North London club. Viewing his solid performances at Serie A, he has the potential to become a starter for Conte. The Ivorian star is a proven success and provides an experienced option.
With the new offer, Spurs could make a breakthrough in negotiations. Spurs don’t even have to pay any fee for the transfer as he would be free to leave AC Milan in the summer.
