Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic could make transfer U-turn
According to Politika (h/t Daily Express), Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic has suggested that a renewal with Fiorentina could still be on the cards.
Dusan Vlahovic has been sensational this season. The youngster has developed into one of the best strikers of Serie A and continuously making headlines for his impressive performances. With 18 goals in 22 Italian top-flight matches, the Serbian has a strong claim on the European golden shoe.
Vlahovic’s impressive feat has put him on the radar of top Premier League clubs. Arsenal and Tottenham have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old star. However, both the north London teams are set to receive a significant blow in their pursuit.
In his recent interview, Vlahovic showed great admiration for his current team and the supporters of Fiorentina.
“I have stated this several times in the past; a beautiful football story is being made here in Florence. We have a good team, great football players and great support from the fans. They all deserve respect.”
The Serbian forward even suggested that his prime motive is to take I Viola to the European stage. When asked about the possibility of a renewal deal with the Italian team, the 21-year-old striker didn’t rule out a future at Serie A.
“Never say never. But at the moment, I am focused on winning matches.”
Tottenham’s star forward, Harry Kane, struggled in the initial phase of the season. However, the arrival of Antonio Conte has rejuvenated his form, and the English captain has found him on the scoreline on a couple of occasions in the past few matches.
Son Heung-min has been top-notch throughout the season, and Lucas Moura has also played his part. However, there isn’t a solid depth in the Spurs forward lineup. Dutch youngster Steven Bergwijn has struggled with injury issues. Apart from hi, Antonio Conte doesn’t have any quality attackers.
Therefore Dusan Vlahovic could be a successful addition to the squad. Lucas Moura’s age suggests that he can only provide sustainable performance for a few more years. Therefore, the Serbian can team up with Kane in front with Son dropping deep in Conte’s 3-5-2 formation.
