Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur pushing to sign Adama Traore ‘by the end of next week’
According to Football. London’s Tottenham correspondents Alasdair Gold, Tottenham Hotspur want to lure Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore to the Lane before the end of the January transfer window.
Adama Traore‘s performances have taken a hit this season, especially when it comes to his goal contributions and end product. Should the 25-year-old seek a new challenge, then Tottenham Hotspur are a leading option for the Spaniard to consider.
Spurs have been heavily linked with Traore for a long time. Sadly, there has been a difference in opinions between the two boards and it is believed that Antonio Conte’s team are seeking a loan transfer with an obligation to buy. However, last summer, Wolves were interested in cashing in but were unable to get a deal over the line.
Tottenham have since retained their interest in the former Barcelona star. There haven’t been any new approaches from our board, but it is believed that Spurs want to secure the transfer before the end of the ongoing transfer window.
After Traore scored a goal in the Wolves’ last match against Southampton, Bruno Lage jokingly sent a message to the concerned teams saying the Spaniard’s value had increased. Hopefully, that is more tongue in cheek than anything serious.
Our right wing-back role requires priority attention due to the lack of consistency of Matt Doherty. Whereas Emerson Royal also hasn’t been quite top-notch after his arrival. Antonio Conte already has the experience of putting Victor Moses in that role and changing his career, and he could do the similar with Traore.

Looking at our board’s approach, landing the Spaniard this window would undoubtedly boost the Italian manager’s options for the games to come. The 25-year-old is one of the fastest players in the Premier League, and his top-notch physicality would provide him with an added advantage for making effective runs on the right flank.
