Transfer News: Fiorentina receive enquiry from other clubs for Tottenham Hotspur target Sofyan Amrabat

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Fiorentina have received multiple enquiries from other clubs for the services of Sofyan Amrabat amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur. He is currently on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, helping his side reach the quarter-finals so far.

The Serie A club has been approached by several unknown clubs, which would put Tottenham on high alert. They are still waiting for the offer from Spurs’ side, which is stated to be a loan deal with an option to buy in the future.

The North London side is working overtime to try and offload Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndomebele, or at least one of them, for signing a midfielder. With time running out, they need to raise their efforts if they hope to bring in at least one reinforcement this month.

No time to waste

Earlier this week, it was mentioned that Antonio Conte’s side was ready to sign the Moroccan on a loan transfer with an option to buy for £13.4million. However, we have not made our move yet, which is frustrating to see for many reasons.

We are yet to make a single signing for the first team this January, even when it was clear that we needed quality additions. We spent the entirety of the transfer window chasing after Adama Traore but now he is set to join up with Barcelona.

Similarly, we were in the fray for Luis Diaz but Liverpool have overtaken us and are looking likely to get the deal over the line. Conte has brought success at his previous clubs, but he also had support from the board and the players as well. To impose your philosophy on a team, it helps to have players you want, playing in the positions you want them playing in.

The futures of Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli, and Giovani Lo Celso hang in the balance as they have been ousted from Conte’s plans at N17. Even if the trio stays, it is clear that the ex-Inter Milan boss does not want them to be first-team regulars for now.

We cannot count on underperforming players, so it is up to the board to clear them out and bring in signings who can be useful to the Italian manager. With interest flooding in from other teams, it is clear that we must act quickly if we want to sign the 25-year-old defensive midfielder.

Since our backs are against the wall at this point, let’s hope that we would learn from our mistakes and get this transfer done so that the competition does not even have a chance. At this point, something is better than nothing.
