Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane shared his thoughts after victory over Manchester City
In conversation with the official website, England captain Harry Kane expressed his excitement as Tottenham Hotspur managed to win against Manchester City for the second time in the Premier League this season.
The Lilywhites came into the match with very little hope on the back of defeats to Chelsea, Southampton, and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the PL. In a special turn of events, Spurs put three goals past Ederson to record a famous victory against the Citizens at the Etihad stadium.
The 28-year-old striker had been struggling to get going for the North Londoners this season in England’s top-flight football competition. Manchester City were knocking on the door to secure the talented English striker’s services last summer but Daniel Levy was adamant about not letting go of his prized asset.
In his interview with the Tottenham Hotspur official site, Harry Kane expressed his happiness after securing the three points in the blue side of Manchester:
“An incredible game, and a great moment for the team, the Club, we’ve had a tough week and to bounce back in the way we did here, at one of the toughest places to play, one of the toughest teams to play, to get that result is really special.”
Cometh the hour, cometh the man
The English international has been a faithful servant to the club now. He has given us several precious moments to celebrate throughout his career. The 28-year-old had a slow start to the campaign but the fans would be hoping that this performance would help rejuvenate his form.
Antonio Conte has come to the club and has had quite a roller coaster ride till now. The Italian manager has tried to imprint his brand of attacking football ever since arriving at N17. That being said, an early exit from the UEFA Conference League and a recent run of defeats shed light on the fact that the North Londoners still have a long way to go if they are to consistently compete for titles.
January signing Dejan Kulusevski played his first Premier League match for Spurs at the Etihad and was just as influential as Kane on the night. He opened the scoring in the fourth minute and there was no looking back after that.
The English striker could have had a hat-trick on the day but an earlier attempt in the 74th minute was flagged offside but he did manage to have the final laugh on the day. Son Heung Min also played a crucial role throughout the match.
