Some Tottenham fans react on Twitter after disappointing draw vs Brentford

Tottenham Hotspur had to settle for a draw against Brentford which saw their hopes for a top-four finish slowly slip away from their grasp. The Lilwyhites were having an impressive run of form in the last few Premier League fixtures barring their loss against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The game was played out in a scruffy manner but none of the teams managed to ultimately get on the scoresheet. Spurs lacked any real intent in the first half but seemed to bring more attacking prowess at the start of the second half.

The Bees had the better of the opportunities on the day. Harry Kane made a pivotal block on the line in the 66th minute when Pontus Jansson steered a decent header on Tottenham’s goal. Ivan Toney hit the woodwork twice on the night, one of them being in extra time.

The Lilwyhites have now managed to secure only one point from their last two Pl matches which means that the hopes of UEFA Champions League qualification seem like a very tough task. These fears are compounded by the fact that Arsenal have recorded impressive victories against Chelsea and Manchester United respectively in their last two fixtures.

Spurs once again failed to record a shot on target and they seemed to lack the clinical edge in the final third once again. Antonio Conte did bring in Davinson Sanchez and Lucas Moura in an attempt to rile something up but the scoreline remained goalless on the day.

Some fans react as Tottenham Hotspur’s dissatisfying result takes us further away from European football

Brentford should be given due credit for being well-drilled and asserting themselves in the middle of the pitch. The home side played a great game but Spurs are showing worrying signs going ahead. The Lilwyhites will need much better performances in the upcoming matches if they want to stay in the hunt for a top-four finish this campaign.
