Tottenham boss Antonio Conte confident of replacing Mauricio Pochettino at PSG
According to Le Parisien (h/t The Sun), Tottenham Hotspur boss, Antonio Conte has been touted to replace Mauricio Pochettino at PSG ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The Italian is one of Europe’s top tacticians and has won trophies in Italy and England. He was very successful at Juventus and won the Premier League title in his debut season with Chelsea. The 52-year-old replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham and has admittedly brought about an upturn in fortunes.
Having a man of Conte’s ability in charge is key for Tottenham’s hopes of breaking back into the top four and even challenging for trophies. Losing him even before the project has taken off at full steam would be a crippling blow.
The Italian for his part has already committed his future to Spurs but is said to be harbouring ‘dreaming’ of a move to the Parc des Princes. Paris Saint-Germain are currently managed by former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentine led the Paris giants to the Ligue 1 title on Saturday but has come up short in the UEFA Champions League. It is fair to say that he is on shaky ground and could pave the way for Conte to take the reins.
The Spurs boss is eyeing a new challenge and it remains to be seen if he is willing to swap London for Paris should the opportunity present itself. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
While Conte may have more resources at PSG, the manager’s position at the Parc des Princes has proven to be a poisoned chalice. Several high profile managers have come and gone but have failed to lead the club to a single Champions League crown.
Whether Conte believes he is the man to end that cycle of failure remains to be seen. However, a failure could seriously dent his image as a man capable of performing miracles too. But then again, so can a spell at Tottenham if he leaves N17 empty-handed.

Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane is PSG’s top managerial target. The French man is currently unattached and could be available should he choose to take the challenge. Tottenham should do their part to ensure that the Italian stays put at the North London club. Anything short of it will be a testament to our lack of ambition.
