Tottenham Hotspur are considering a summer move for Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry
According to Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing former Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry. The German international’s current contract with Bayern Munich expires in June 2023.
The 26-year-old attacker never got any real opportunities in his time with the Gunners and was ultimately shipped off to Werder Bremen in 2016 and then went on to join Munich the succeeding year.
Gnabry has since proved all his critics wrong by bagging 63 goals and 40 assists in 168 matches across all competitions for Die Roten to date. His performances have not gone unnoticed and if this development is to be believed, an emphatic return to North London could be on the cards.
The ‘Serge’ for a lethal attacker
The Lilywhites have relied too heavily on the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min in the past to guide their attacking setup. While the duo has conjured up a fearsome partnership, buying an exciting attacker to ease a bit of their burden seems like a good option.
That seems even more necessary right now, considering that we have failed to land a shot on target in our last two matches. Not only does Gnabry provide an attacking threat but also possesses great versatility on the pitch.
The 26-year-old attacker has played as a right midfielder, left-winger, attacking midfielder, second striker as well as a right-winger. Whilst proving efficient in different positions, the German has been the most productive on the right flank this campaign.
It is believed that the former Gunners man is holding out for a £13 million a year contract with the Bavarians. The German club are not willing to fork out that sum and this has alerted some of the top clubs in Europe. Real Madrid are also interested in him but may have to get Gareth Bale off their books before making a move for the Bundesliga superstar.

We may get the German star for a cut-price deal considering that he heads into the latter stages of his contract. At 26, he still has some of his prime years ahead of him and his experience at the elite level could be a great asset for us.
The Lilwyhites had a pretty quiet window in January and purchasing Gnabry could be the perfect way to make a splash and strengthen our squad going forward. The deal would be even sweeter considering that he used to ply his trade for our arch-rivals at one point in time.
