Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Inter Milan youngster Martin Satriano
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are interested in young Inter Milan striker Martin Satriano. Olympique de Marseille and LOSC Lille have also been linked with the 21-year-old striker.
The Uruguayan striker has already bagged four goals in 12 matches across all competitions for Stade Brestois 29 in his current loan spell. The youngster shows immense potential and the clubs could have the option to snap him up.
Chelsea could be looking to add Satriano as Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku continue to underwhelm Blues fans. Spurs could be tempted to purchase the young Uruguayan to future-proof the striking department at Hotspur Way or strengthen their number 9 department- which is lightweight without Harry Kane.
The Nerazzurri are reluctant to let go of their budding talent but their tumultuous financial situation may soften their stance on this. In their most recent accounts, their losses are believed to be €245.6 million, and Inter Milan director Alessandro Antonello has admitted that he wants to cut that down to half by the time the 2022/23 accounts are filed.
A young striker at Tottenham
We have relied heavily on Kane to deliver for us up front in the last few seasons. While Dane Scarlett shows great potential, at 18, it could be a big burden to ask him to handle the reins from the English captain.
While Martin Sartiano is also in the nascent stages of his career, his acquisition could add that extra depth to the forward lineup which could help avoid us relying solely on a single player in the future.
He could also help fill in for the English striker should he show the potential to make an impact in the Premier League. This would be a big ask considering that the Uruguayan striker hasn’t stepped foot in England’s top-flight prior to this.
The current financial situation of the defending Serie A champions means our board would be smart to tilt any potential deal into our favour when it comes to the financial aspects of it. That being said, we must also be wary of the interest from the other clubs who would be trying to exploit the same situation.
