Erik ten Hag wants Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Christian Eriksen at Manchester United
According to The Daily Star, Erik ten Hag has placed Tottenham Hotspur-linked Christian Eriksen on his wish list for Manchester United.
The Danish international even trained with ten Hag’s Ajax Amsterdam for a brief period of time, recovering from his near-fatal cardiac arrest in the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship.
While there may have been concerns regarding his fitness post the traumatic event, his current form with Brentford has cast all those fears aside. The 30-year-old has already bagged one goal and two assists in 7 matches across all competitions this campaign for the Bees with his positioning and vision helping the West London club going forward.
The race to land Eriksen
Both ten Hag and Antonio Conte have previously worked with the Danish midfielder. The former Inter Milan man also played a majority of his career with us, bagging 69 goals and 90 assists in 305 matches across all competitions for Spurs to date.
The 30-year-old midfielder is a glorious part of our history and hopefully, our past rapport could help us get over the line in this scenario. Eriksen could be available on a free transfer at the end of the season after signing only a short-term deal with the West London club.
His current performances mean that there could be a considerable list of suitors looking to secure his services before the start of next season. This could be an added obstacle should we be genuinely interested in securing his services and it isn’t a surprise, given that he could be a free agent by that time.
His dynamic presence in the middle of the pitch could help us a great deal going forward and relieve some of the pressure on the likes of Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane. Qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League could also be a potential factor in choosing his next destination.

At the moment qualifying for Europe’s elite competitions looks like a tough task. The Lilwyhites will have to put in better performances if they want to make this dream a reality. A reunion with our special star could certainly be a savoury moment for us and the dynamic would be even sweeter if we trump our arch-rivals to land his services.
