Tottenham Hotspur linked with a potential transfer for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare
According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are linked with a potential move to sign PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare ahead of the summer transfer window. He has enjoyed another solid campaign, which seems to have played a part in the increased attraction for his services.
Sangare’s splendid performances have appeared to be the cause of his links to the Premier League. While Tottenham are linked with a move for him, Chelsea are keeping tabs on his situation as they are interested in facilitating a transfer this summer. Manchester United are tipped to be another potential destination for the midfielder.
The Blues have added the Ivory Coast ace to their shortlist of alternative targets for West Ham United’s Declan Rice. They have been priced out of a move for Rice due to the Hammers’ ridiculous asking price of £150million. As such, Sangare is being eyed, with him costing only around £30million in transfer fees.
Spurs need Sangare?
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp, Rodrigo Bentancur and Harry Winks form the current set of options that Antonio Conte enjoys at his hand. While Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele could add to it following their loan spells, one would wonder whether Conte would want them since he had approved their exits in January.
Winks’ case should be shined some light upon since he has struggled to get regular game time even though Oliver Skipp has been ruled out for the remainder of this term for quite some time. Questions can be raised about whether the former would still decide to stay at N17 if a new midfielder arrives this summer.
Sangare could prove to be a useful reinforcement in such a case, especially if there are plans to raise the squad’s quality to build a title-winning team. However, Thomas Tuchel’s side would pose genuine competition since they have already expressed their intentions to sign him.

However, the fans would hope that the West London club would divert their attention to other targets on the shortlist. As for Man United, they could formally enter the transfer race as well, with Erik ten Hag being in line to restructure their squad as part of the rebuilding phase.
Hence, prising away Sangare can be of several uses as we can bolster our squad while preventing our rivals from strengthening themselves. Moreover, the current price tag is not expensive either for someone who seems ready to take the next step in his playing career. Whether that will be a move to Spurs or not remains to be seen.
