Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur and Everton held talks over a potential move for Harry Winks
According to Liverpool Echo, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have held talks over a potential move for Harry Winks in this summer transfer window. His future looks increasingly likely to be away from N17 at this moment, with the midfielder hoping to become a regular elsewhere.
Tottenham are willing to sell Winks this summer despite the central midfielder being tied down until 2024. He has attracted a host of attention from several clubs as a result, with the Blues being one of them. Furthermore, it is claimed that a minimum of top-flight sides are pursuing him as of now.
However, the England international has made up his mind to move to Goodison Park ahead of the next season. That would be a great piece of news for Frank Lampard, who has identified Winks as an option to improve his midfield to raise his squad’s quality. Both clubs have made contact with each other, although the negotiations are still in an early stage right now.
Winks nearing exit?
It seems that the prospect of the 26-year-old joining the Liverpool-based club is a real possibility indeed. After all, all the parties involved in this case are hoping to see a move being finalised, which would certainly favour us in the end.
After all, the Spurs ace has been on the fringes under Antonio Conte even when there was a lack of depth in the midfield. In such a case, it is quite difficult to see him earn minutes when Oliver Skipp returns to full fitness from his long-term injury.
Moreover, Yves Bissouma’s recent arrival adds more reasons to believe that Winks’ sale is the right choice from our side. Conte only utilises a two-man midfield pairing which does not call for the need to have too many options in the centre of the pitch.
Since Winks has generated quite a lot of interest, one could say that we can generate a decent sum of money in cash which can further be used to back Conte in this transfer window.
Let’s hope to see a quick solution to this matter as earning the financial boost as early as possible would help us have a clearer idea about our plans for this summer.

Winks seemed to be in line to become an important cog in Conte’s system when the boss initially took over the reins. Unfortunately, the academy graduate could not take advantage of the early promise he had shown, which has led to this situation.
