Spurs Transfer News: Everton winger Anthony Gordon a potential target for Tottenham Hotspur
According to football.london, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Anthony Gordon from Everton. Alongside Richarlison, Spurs are looking to bring the 21-year-old to North London.
With homegrown players having left the Tottenham Hotspur stadium this year, the Lilywhite are looking at the young English winger to bolster their numbers.
With the Merseyside club’s interest in Harry Winks, Gordon is a player Spurs are interested in bringing to N17. It remains to be seen how easy or difficult it is to do business with the Toffees this summer.
Their fans always carry lofty ambitions after a horror season where relegation was a possibility, it would not be the easiest task to convince them to sell one of their top youth prospects.
Gordon an exciting prospect
The 21-year-old winger has had a breakout season with Everton as he helped the Toffees avoid relegation this season.
Gordon scored some important goals at the end of the campaign and fans who saw him play would argue that the young Englishman was one of the best players at the Goodison.
If Tottenham do manage to get the player to North London, it would be interesting to see the reaction of Evertonians. If Gordon makes a move, it will be intriguing to see how Antonio Conte uses him.
The lad from Liverpool played 40 games last season for Everton. It’s difficult to envision the 21-year-old getting the same number of minutes at Spurs.
With Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski establishing themselves on the wings and Harry Kane being our main man down the middle, Gordon would have to be satisfied with much fewer games under his belt at N17, at least initially.
With new signing Ivan Perisic, and with Lucas Moura, Bryan Gil and Steven Bergwijn still waiting in the wings, the 21-year-old will have a hard time getting into the team.
