Eric Dier is happy with the new Tottenham Hotspur signings this summer
Speaking at a Tottenham Hotspur Global football development session (h/t football.london), Eric Dier expressed his happiness at Spurs’ transfer window. The centre-back is looking forward to next season and it will hopefully be one to remember.
“I’m so happy on an individual, and I think I can speak on a collective level as well, everyone is really happy with how the summer has gone.”
The 28-year-old believes the Lilywhites have had an impressive summer transfer window and is of the opinion that the new signings are exciting. While they still have much to prove on the field, anticipation is quite high.
“The club have had a great summer, they’ve made a lot of signings and really exciting signings, in my opinion.”
A great summer so far
The North London club have had a good start to the transfer window. Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic were the first ones to come through the door on a free transfer.
The club then went out and signed Yves Bissouma from Brighton. The midfielder has been one of the best in the Premier League in his positions for a couple of years now.
Richarlison was the fourth signing of the summer. The Brazilian’s arrival is a major boost to the squad in terms of quality in depth. After several impressive years with Watford and Everton in England, fans will feel the club finally have someone who can give Harry Kane a rest.
Clement Lenglet has also been signed on loan from Barcelona. The defender is a welcome addition to the team. Antonio Conte used Ben Davies as a makeshift centre-back last season. The Frenchman’s arrival gives the gaffer a natural option.
Tottenham are also looking to make other signings this season. It’ll be interesting to see who the club go after next to strengthen the squad. We have also seen some outgoings and Conte is being given the freedom to build the team he wants.
We already had great players in the team before the new signings came in. Kane and Son Heung-min are two of the best players in the world and they play for us. Our team boasts Hugo Lloris, the World Cup-winning captain, in between the sticks.
