Juventus set their sights on Tottenham Hotspur full-back Sergio Reguilon
According to Calciomercato (h/t football.london)., Juventus are preparing a move for Tottenham Hotspur full-back Sergio Reguilon amid talks linking the Spaniard to Sevilla.
The 25-year-old is not in Antonio Conte’s plans and he’s been left out of the squad for the Spurs’ pre-season tour in South Korea. Sevilla are also interested, but it looks like the Old Lady have also thrown their hat into the ring.
Reguilon made an exciting move to North London in 2020 from Real Madrid following an impressive spell on loan at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium. The 25-year-old was an impressive signing at the time.
Under Jose Mourinho, the Spaniard became an essential part of the team and established himself in the squad in his debut season. The marauding full-back has decent quality in the final third.
Reguilon on his way out
Under Conte, although Reguilon has found himself in the team, the Italian doesn’t seem to trust him. Ryan Sessegnon found himself in the team and was excellent in the final stretch of the season after the Spaniard picked up an injury.
Given the young English full-back’s form, it seems Reguilon has fallen out of favour and a move away is imminent. The arrival of Ivan Perisic is also believed to be a reason for the Spaniard’s relegation in the pecking order.
With first-team action unlikely next term, it doesn’t make sense for the club to have an unhappy player in the squad. The 25-year-old is still a decent player to have for any side.
While Spurs may not be able to recoup all the money spent on him, a player of Reguilon’s quality can fetch a decent fee in the market. The Spaniard has just been unlucky to not be in Conte’s plans.

If Reguilon does end up leaving, it will leave us with just two options on the left wing-back spot. While Perisic is an experienced and well-rounded player, the 33-year-old’s defensive abilities aren’t his strongest suit. And Sessegnon is still relatively inexperienced.
