Bayern Munich chief responds to transfer links with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane
While speaking in an interview to Bild as quoted by Evening Standard, Bayern Munich chief Oliver Kahn has confirmed interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.
Bayern could now want to replace the goal-machine that was Robert Lewandowski. Following their decision to let the 33-year-old join Barcelona for €45million, the Bundesliga champions could now be looking for a new centre-forward.
It was previously claimed that the Bavarian team had chosen England captain Kane as their preferred substitute for the outstanding player from Poland. Additionally, Bayern were said to be confident in their ability to lure the 28-year-old away from North London.
Oliver Kahn, the club’s CEO, has now acknowledged that the Tottenham striker is on their target list.
“He is under contract at Tottenham. Sure, he is an absolute top striker, but that’s all a dream of the future. So let’s see what happens.”
Harry Kane was going through one of the worst phases of his career when Antonio Conte joined Tottenham. Given his performance in prior seasons, many Spurs supporters were surprised by the fact that he had just one goal in nine Premier League games at the time.
The 28-year-old striker, however, found his form again following the appointment of the Italian boss. Harry Kane has been our most potent goal scorer. His goal-scoring form frequently correlates with the team’s performance on the field, and when he scores, Spurs are naturally a more lethal, dangerous team.
It would be one of the most surprising moves of the summer window if Tottenham sell Kane. Antonio Conte would certainly have a think about his future if Kane were moved, and any hope for the upcoming season would decrease in a split second.

Conte has come in and brought a new vibe at N17. Him and Kane seem to make a great pair and there is very little, if anything, to suggest that Spurs and Daniel Levy would let go of their superstar striker.
