Weston McKennie to Tottenham Hotspur could turn promotion after Paul Pogba injury
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur might miss out on Weston McKennie because of Paul Pogba’s recent injury situation.
Despite their very hectic summer transfer window thus far, the Lilywhites are reportedly anxious to add even more fresh players.
Recently, Nicolo Zaniolo of Roma has been mentioned in connection with Conte and club president Fabio Paratici reportedly looking for a creative midfielder.
McKennie is reportedly now thought to be on the Spurs’ radar. Despite the fact that he plays more as a box-to-box midfielder, he might give Conte aggressive and effective runs with the ball from the key area of the field and his high work rate might have convinced the manager for the transfer.
The Juventus star has a solid reputation, and Tottenham may be enticed to make a bid because of his low age. The 23-year-old still has a bright future in front of him. He sounds like he may be quite the asset at Tottenham if Conte gets his guy, depending on Juve’s demands.
However, now it is believed that the Old Lady might be reluctant to give away McKennie this summer following the injury of new signing Paul Pogba. The former United player is facing serious problems with the meniscus of his right knee and could be out of action for a while.
It is believed that McKennie is currently being regarded as the most likely replacement for the Frenchman until the Italian club finds a more suitable solution.
In the previous January transfer window, our team signed Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from the Italian team. So, one could claim that our relationships with them may be able to assist us in our efforts to get McKennie’s support for Conte.
That is definitely a possibility, especially in light of Conte and Fabio Paratici’s prior connections to the Turin-based team. In reality, Paratici was the one who signed McKennie for them when he served in a position akin at Juventus to the one he now fills at North London.
Tottenham is in need of and seems to be looking for a good offensive midfielder. The outstanding play of Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg more than made up for the lack of depth in the Spurs midfield.
The potential of the USMNT players might be best known to Antonio Conte who spent 2 seasons with Inter Milan before coming to Tottenham. Weston McKennie might perform at his best under the Italian.
