Tottenham Hotspur News: Napoli want to conclude Tanguy Ndombele transfer by next week

According to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Napoli are working on a deal with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Tanguy Ndombele on loan by next week.

They have a verbal agreement in place with Spurs and are in negotiations with the player’s agents to finalise the move. There is an option in the proposed contract whereby Gli Azzurri can permanently sign the 25-year-old next summer.

Napoli seem to be active in the transfer market right now as they continue their pursuit of Keylor Navas. Fabian Ruiz could also leave the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Hopefully, they can divide their attention properly and take the Frenchman off our hands at the earliest. Ever since he left Olympique de Lyonnais for Tottenham in 2019, he hasn’t once looked like the player we expected to see for a club-record signing.

Ndombele deal must be finalised as soon as possible

He hasn’t been a regular for managers such as Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espiroto Santo, and Antonio Conte. He did show flashes of brilliance under these managers.

However, he did not convince them to an extent where they would want to keep him in their starting XI over the course of several months. Injury issues also did Ndombele no favours.

He was left out of the Tottenham team that travelled to Israel to face AS Roma last month and wasn’t in the matchday squad in the 4-1 win against Southampton last weekend.

More Tottenham News:

He seems like a player who isn’t needed by Conte and is just raking in £200,000-a-week in wages without warranting that kind of money. Hopefully, Napoli loan him this season and exercise the option to buy once the campaign ends.
