Tottenham star Tanguy Ndombele could be on his way to Napoli
According to Fabrizio Romano via Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele could be on his way for a season-long loan to Napoli. It is just a matter of final details on the player’s side.
Napoli will cover the main part of the 25-year-old’s salary and also pay around €1 million loan fee to Spurs. A buy option of €30 million has been included, though it seems it may not be mandatory.
Having joined the north London club in 2019 for a club-record fee of €60 million, the Frenchman has struggled to play. He has been unable to establish himself in the team, nor be deemed good enough for the bench by any manager.

The midfielder was loaned back to his previous side Olympique Lyon for the second half of last season. There too he could not make much difference, and they opted to not buy him.
Antonio Conte has no role for him in his plans as is evident from the fact that he did not include him in his pre-season squad. He had sent him out on loan last season and is likely to do so again.
Ndombele is very down the pecking order. With the arrival of Yves Bissouma and the solid partnership of Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg in the middle of the park, the 25-year-old is hardly likely to get any playing time.
A loan deal benefits Spurs too. Since the main part of his salary is being covered by the Italian side, this will help the club lighten its wage bill. The club has spent so heavily in the summer and it will be wise to balance their books.
