Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur set for big loss on Tanguy Ndombele as Napoli move beckons

Tottenham Hotspur are being offered a paltry £840,000 by Napoli in loan fees for Tanguy Ndombele, according to transfer expert Paolo Bargiggia via CalcioNapoli24 (h/t the Express).

The Frenchman is surplus to requirements at N17 and the Italian giants have been willing to make a temporary move for him with an option to buy him permanently next summer. That clause is believed to be at least £25million.

Considering the £55million Spurs paid to Lyon in 2019 for Ndombele, that’s a £30million loss if Napoli exercise their option to buy next summer and the clause is set at the aforementioned price.

This is a loss that Spurs would be wise to accept, however. Ndombele is as far as one can be from Antonio Conte’s transfer plans at N17.

Ndombele on his way out?

The 25-year-old was left out of the club’s pre-season trip to Israel when they faced AS Roma. He is training individually and was not part of the matchday squad that took on Southampton and Chelsea in the Premier League earlier this month.

One expendable midfielder in Giovani Lo Celso has already left for Villarreal on loan. Ndombele could be next and Spurs would hope that Gli Azzurri exercise their option to buy the player, because, in all honesty, he doesn’t look like he has a future at N17 as of now.

Vlad Chiriches and Fernando Llorente are two of the most recent players to have switched Spurs for Naples. It remains to be seen if Ndombele joins that short list.

More Tottenham News:

Spurs, meanwhile, are ready to take on Wolves this weekend at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With four points on the board from two games, Conte must be seeing this game as a must-win encounter.
