AC Milan are in direct talks with Tottenham Hotspur for Japhet Tanganga
Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga is the subject of conversations between Spurs and AC Milan. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the Serie A giants want to sign the 23-year-old.
The Italian outfit have also been after Paris Saint-Germain defender Abdou Diallo. However, a deal for the Senegalese seems difficult for the Serie A champions. So they have now turned their attention toward Tanganga.
Milan now considers the versatile Tottenham defender a priority. The 23-year-old came up through the Spurs youth rank. The academy graduate has gone on to feature 43 times for his boyhood club.

Deal complicated for Diallo with PSG so Tangangs is Milan priority now.
Tanganga is a versatile player capable of playing at right-back or centre-back. Over the years, the player’s ability to play in multiple positions has come in handy for various managers.
The England U21 international got considerable game time under Nuno Espirito Santo and Antonio Conte last season. However, a thigh injury abruptly cut his season short in February.
Tanganga has been on the sidelines for Spurs on multiple occasions. The 23-year-old hasn’t been able to get a consistent run of games in the team.
Tottenham have made some decent additions to the backline over the years. Cristian Romero arrived from Atalanta last summer. The Argentine has proven to be a solid centre-back for the North London side. However, the 24-year-old has had issues with injuries.
Eric Dier was the leader in the back-three in the previous campaign. The England international was solid throughout the 2021/22 season. Ben Davies was the one who usually played in the left-centre-back position last term.

Spurs have added Clement Lenglet to Conte’s squad this summer. Davinson Sanchez is also an option for the Italian manager. Considering the depth in the defensive areas, a move away at this moment seems the best bet for Tanganga to further his development.
