Tottenham Hotspur continued their unbeaten start to the league this season, winning 1-0 at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Harry Kane’s goal from a corner was the difference in an exciting game.

Wolves were very impressive in the first half, creating a number of chances from the kick-off. However, they failed to capitalise on any of them and ultimately ended up on the wrong side of the score sheet.

The second half was much better for Spurs. They started attacking more and got a very well-deserved goal. While speaking to SPURSPLAY after the game, Antonio Conte gave his verdict.

It was a good game, because when you win easily, it’s difficult to make a real judgement. In this way, you can analyse. In the second half, we fixed some tactical situations, and we pushed a lot with the pressure to defend with a higher line, created chances to score and in the end, I have to be pleased.

But it was England captain, Kane that made the headlines after his goal. He overtook Sergio Aguero’s goal record for a single club as he netted his 185th Premier League goal for Tottenham.

It was also his 250th goal for the club in all competitions as he is just 16 away from Jimmy Greaves’s all-time record of 266 for Spurs. Given the form he is in, he is very likely to break the record this season.

Ivan Perisic started and impressed everyone. In fact, he was the one who assisted Kane for the only goal of the game. Richarlison came off the bench and almost scored on his debut. Overall, it was an impressive performance from everyone, including Davinson Sanchez who started in place of the injured Cristian Romero.

Wolves will consider themselves unlucky that they could not get a point from the game. Spurs meanwhile will hope that they do not win every game so closely. The victory also sent Tottenham to the top of the table, but only temporarily.
