Spurs Transfer News: Fabrizio Romano confirms Marseille bid for Tottenham target Ruslan Malinovski
According to Fabrizio Romano, Olympique de Marseille have made an offer for Tottenham Hotspur target and Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi.
The 29-year-old is unsettled at his current club, a situation confirmed by his wife. He is currently in the last year of his contract and it is understandable that clubs are circling around him for his services.
Romano was asked on Twitter about Spurs’ interest in Malinovskyi. The Italian transfer expert confirmed that Tottenham are tracking him, but are yet to make an offer.
OM lost influential defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara on a free transfer to Aston Villa this summer. However, they have done well to reinforce that area by signing Matteo Guendouzi from Arsenal and Jordan Veretout from AS Roma.
Spurs would be wise to make an offer of their own
It seems that manager Igor Tudor isn’t done when it comes to bringing in new faces. Malinovskyi is a versatile midfielder who can play as a number six, a number 10 and as a second striker.
And that is exactly why Spurs would be wise to capitalise on the situation and sign the unsettled Ukraine international. The Bergamo-based outfit has clearly provided a platform for Malinovskyi to stand out and impress.
Now, a move to Spurs could be what he needs to take his game to the next level. There is no denying that Antonio Conte is one of the best managers in Europe, and he can make Malinovskyi an important part of his team.
If we do miss out on the KRC Genk midfielder, it wouldn’t be the end of the world but if he does come in, it would be a smart way to strengthen our team’s midfield and attack.
