Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia renew talks for Bryan Gil
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano via Twitter, Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia have scheduled new round of talks for Bryan Gil. Negotiations are said to be in process, with all parties wanting to seal the deal by next week.
Gil was supposed to have joined the La Liga last week itself, having an agreement in place with the club. But Antonio Conte had a change of heart and blocked the move for the 21-year-old. But looks like now that is not the case.
The Spaniard has struggled for game-time ever since joining the London club in 2021. He even spent the second half of last season on loan at Valencia, with the club now looking to add him to their squad this season too.

A talented young player, he has failed to earn the trust of Conte and cement himself in the team. The 21-year-old managed only nine Premier League appearances last season, failing to score or assist any goal.
Dejan Kulusevski and the arrivals of Ivan Perisic and Richarlison have all pushed Gil further down the pecking order. The Spanish winger was named in all three matches by Conte this season but remained an unused substitute.
On the other hand, Spurs are still asking for a mandatory buy clause to let defender Japhet Tanganga leave this summer. The 23-year-old is a Tottenham youth graduate and is linked with a move to Italian giants AC Milan.
Conte made it clear after the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers that if a squad player leaves, another will come. This could be a hint that Spurs could yet but another player this summer, should Gil leave for the La Liga side.

It remains to be seen who the replacement player is. Conte, meanwhile, will be happy with the start of the season with his side winning two and drawing one game. Fans will hope that their team continues on such a good performance when they play Nottingham Forest next week.
