Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur have made a loan offer for Daniel James
Tottenham Hotspur made a loan offer with an option to buy for Leeds United winger Daniel James. This is according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon via his Patreon account. (h/t motleedsnews)
However, Nixon suggested that Leeds want straight up-cash for the 24-year-old. Antonio Conte wants to bring in the former Manchester United winger for the outgoing Bryan Gil.
And now Spurs have made an offer to the Yorkshire club for the young forward. Should a deal be stuck between the two clubs, James could become the eighth signing for the north London club.
The 24-year-old joined Leeds from United in 2021. He was an instant hit and later became a crucial part of their survival. The Yorkshire-based club miraculously survived the drop last season, finishing 17th on the table.
James made 34 league appearances, scoring four and assisting another five in the process. The winger has drawn attention from Spurs in the past too. An electrifying winger with an eye for goal, he would make a fine addition to Conte’s Spurs.
He could be deployed in multiple positions by the Italian coach. The Wales international could be deployed on either side of the wing-back position due to his pace and also upfront. He could also potentially serve as a backup to Dejan Kulusevski.
But he is a regular at Leeds, something that could be hard to come at London. However, that is something that can be negotiated. Just 24, the player could potentially play his prime at the club.

It remains to be seen if any deal can be worked out for the player. The lure of Champions League football could tempt the player to make a move. But it needs to be done fast, as the deadline day is just around the corner.
