Antonio Conte urges Tottenham Hotspur youngsters to take a learn from Ryan Sessegnon
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has urged the young players in his team to follow the example of Ryan Sessegnon.
In an interview quoted in the Daily Mail, the Spurs boss heaps praise on the 22-year-old. The Italian boss considers the wing-back as a ‘reliable’ player in his squad.
About Sess, we are talking about now a young player but a reliable player who I can count on for games in the Premier League or Champions League, for every game.
Sessegnon has improved his game a lot this season. The player has played four games this season, sitting only in the last game against West Ham United.
The 22-year-old competes with the experienced Ivan Perisic for a place in the left wing-back position. Some may have thought that the young player will struggle against the experienced Croatian.
But that has not been the case. The England Under-21 player has improved both physically and technically this season. His confidence is clear on the pitch and that is something Conte loves in his players.
New signing Djed Spence and the duo of Bryan Gil and Pape Matar Sarr are not so much trusted by Conte currently. This is even though all three are of similar age to Sessegnon.
These players will have to show their quality in the training for Conte to reconsider his position about them. With the congested two months ahead, the Italian boss will have to rotate his squad.
