Antonio Conte gives his verdict following Tottenham vs Fulham
Antonio Conte was more than pleased with his Tottenham Hotspur side after they dominated the game vs Fulham. Spurs’ fourth victory of the season.
Spurs continued their unbeaten start to the league this campaign. Goals from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Harry Kane were enough to seal the three points despite a late Fulham goal.
Hugo Lloris made some fine stops to keep his side on the winning one while Heung-min Son came very close to breaking his duck, twice. But, Spurs won and Conte was very happy with the result, (h/t Tottenham Hotspur)
Now, for sure, we can enjoy this win, because we deserve it. We played really well. I liked the game, the way we played, the intensity, the intention. We created so many chances. I’m really pleased with our performance.
Hojbjerg opened the scoring after some very lovely one-two touches with Richarlison inside the opposition box. Kane scored the second in the 75th minute and broke another record with that goal.
The Spurs talisman equalled Thierry Henry’s record of 43 goals in London derbies in the Premier League. The 29-year-old also moved up to the third position in the charts of all-time Premier League goal-scorers with his 188th strike.
Aleksander Mitrovic scored a very beautiful curler in the 83rd minute and almost got the equaliser soon after. But Lloris was there to deny him. Richarlison, on his first start, thought he scored in the 90th minute to seal all three points.
But after a VAR check, the goal was ruled out for being offside. However, that did not matter as Spurs walked away with all three points. A very dominating game by the north London side, they had 23 shots total with 10 on target as compared to Fulham’s 9 total with 3 on target.
