Chris Sutton explains why he sees Tottenham Hotspur beating Manchester United
Chris Sutton believes Tottenham Hotspur will comfortably beat Manchester United this Wednesday. Speaking on BBC Sport (h/t Metro), the pundit gave his reasons.
“They missed Christian Eriksen, who was out with illness and is still a doubt for this game, and they will need his craft to cause his former club any problems. Even if Eriksen plays, however, I’m going for an Antonio Conte counter-attacking win for Tottenham, with Kane kicking things off by winning another penalty and slotting this one away too. 3-1 Spurs.”
Sutton is not wrong in his assessment. Christian Eriksen has been a very crucial player for Erik ten Hag this season and his absence was clearly felt in their goalless draw against Newcastle United at home last weekend.

But whether or not the former Spurs midfielder plays, Antonio Conte will be wise not to take the fixture lightly.
Spurs have only lost one league game so far this season and are currently unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions. The north London club sit third on the table with 23 points, seven more than United.
There is no doubt Harry Kane would play a crucial role against the Red Devils. The striker has been in good form lately and has already netted 9 goals in 10 league games so far for his side.
United too have bounced back from their embarrassing 6-3 defeat against Manchester City earlier this month, winning three of their last four games in all competitions. Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be finding his form and fans will hope to avoid a repeat of him scoring a hat-trick against them like last season.

A win against this United side will help boost the morale of the players. Should Spurs win all three points, they will cut the gap to one point between themselves and rival and leaders Arsenal on the table.
