Antonio Conte causes a stir after lashing out at Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur vs Manchester United
Antonio Conte’s frustrations reached a boiling point just a few minutes before the half-time whistle in Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League clash against Manchester United on Wednesday night at Old Trafford.
The Italian manager had a real go at midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur. He said, as per Calciomercato (h/t Express):
“Pass the ball, d****ead!”.
It is said that the comments have caused quite a ‘stir’ after the loss against the Red Devils. United ended up losing 2-0 on the night. This incident with Bentancur came when the score was still 0-0.
However, Spurs were being played out of the park. The Manchester-based club made their domination count and scored two goals within the first 25 minutes of the second half.
Bentancur had a very poor game, much like his midfield partners Yves Bissouma and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The former Juventus midfielder would, however, be aware that Conte can get passionate at times.
The two share a good relationship and Bentancur recently claimed in an interview that he is thankful to Conte for playing him regularly when he joined Spurs earlier this year in the January transfer window.
He also fired back at the former Inter Milan manager just a second after his comments. It just seemed like an emotional exchange between two frustrated individuals.
There is no doubt that Bentancur would be a leading contender to start our next game, which is against Newcastle United on Sunday (October 23). Hopefully, Lucas Moura
is fit enough to play a bigger role in that game.More Tottenham News:

After all, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison were out of the game against the Red Devils due to their respective injuries. Maybe the game against the Magpies comes a bit too early for them.
