Chelsea star Mason Mount makes ‘special’ training claim about Spurs star Harry Kane
Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount has claimed that he has never seen Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane miss two chances in a row in training sessions.
England players are now doing their media duties ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and talking more about rival club’s players given they are teammates for the time being. You don’t really see this during the club football season.
Mount gave his views on Kane in an interview with the Premier League and said (h/t Football.London):
“In training I don’t think I’ve seen him – well obviously he’s missed maybe a few [chances] – but two in a row? Never. Never seen him [Kane] miss two in a row. And just the way he strikes the ball, the way he picks the corner and hits it, yeah special.”
Kane’s finishing is right there with the very best in world football. He has been scoring goals for fun in the Premier League and is on the verge of becoming England’s all-time top scorer if he nets three goals in Qatar.
Kane to fire England to World Cup glory?
Mount has become a regular feature in the Three Lions set-up and Mount would have seen Kane a fair bit in training. The two have shared the field 28 times already on the international stage.
It’s surely unlikely that Mount has never seen Kane miss two chances in a row in training, right? Then again, who are we to doubt him? Given Kane’s finishing ability, he may well have literally never missed two chances in front of the Chelsea man.
Each position in football is important, but the forwards have the task of disturbing the status quo and putting something on the scoreboard. That’s a huge responsibility in itself and to have Kane lead our line gives us an advantage over many teams.
